Dear Richard Nixon:

I have read with great interest articles concerning your recently published book and am convinced that you have learned alot from not only your terms as president, but also from your critical analysis of modern events as they unfold before our eyes.

I am convinced that you would make a good president, one who could follow in the footsteps of George Bush, correcting the mistakes he has made (and will continue to make, you know: inexperience), and plotting a course towards true world peace and reconciliation between warring groups. Don’t you think it would be the patriotic thing to do to at least offer to run?

It is obvious that George Bush, although a good president, is not what we need now. He is too slow to take advantage of the dramatic changes that have taken the world by storm since the middle of last year. You however would know exactly what to do with all the changes that have turned the world upside down since last summer. Please consider this option.

If you are worried that people will not trust you, then never fear! Look what Reagan did! And the public liked him more! It is not a lost cause. How about surprising everybody? I am with you on this!

Well, another thing, I hope all is going well with you these days. I didn’t realize you moved to New York. I would have thought you would have stayed in California, your native state, but then I remembered the earthquake and realized how smart you were to move. Best wishes for a prosperous future (in selling books if not politics!)!

Faithfully yours,

Phil Saunders
